From Nobellum to Global Stage
How Abdel Ali and Kiwi Charge Are Electrifying the Future
At Nobellum, our greatest point of pride is watching our founders soar. We exist to break down barriers and provide a launchpad for brilliant Black innovators in STEM, and there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing them take their well-deserved place on the world stage.
That’s why we’re beaming with excitement to celebrate the continued momentum of Abdel Ali, MBA, CFA, the visionary founder of Kiwi Charge and a pioneering member of our first cohort of 100 Black STEM businesses.
Abdel’s story is a powerful blueprint for global ambition. Earlier this year, he packed up his vision for a greener future and brought it to GITEX ASIA in Singapore—one of the largest tech events on the planet. There, he stepped into the ring of the Supernova Challenge, a massive global pitch competition with thousands of entrants.
And he didn’t just compete; he conquered.
Kiwi Charge clinched 2nd place and a $30,000 USD prize, a monumental win that shouted one thing loud and clear: Canadian cleantech innovation, led by diverse founders, is a force to be reckoned with.
For Abdel, this wasn’t just about the prize money. It was a validation of his mission to build intelligent, accessible, and scalable EV charging solutions for a world rapidly transitioning to electric vehicles.
“Standing on the main stage at GITEX was a dream,” Abdel shared after the win. “But winning 2nd place is a huge testament to the dedication of our team and the momentum behind Canadian cleantech innovation. This win belongs to all of us.”
From Global Victory to Groundbreaking Partnerships
That international validation was just the beginning. The win at GITEX catalyzed incredible momentum, and we are thrilled to share the next chapter of the Kiwi Charge story.
Abdel and his team have officially kicked off a major project with OVIN (Ontario Vehicle Innovation Network). Following a successful project launch meeting on June 13, 2025, Kiwi Charge officially launched its autonomous charging unit project with automotive giants Pfaff and GM on July 1st.
This partnership is a testament to the real-world application and commercial viability of Kiwi Charge's technology. For the majority of 2025, the team will be focused on building and refining their autonomous charging unit with their developer partners. The project is already gaining significant traction with major industry players:
Tridel has officially signed on as a launch partner.
They are in advanced discussions with Mattamy Homes.
They are working to schedule a connection with Brookfield Asset Management.
This is a full-scale commercial launch that positions Kiwi Charge at the forefront of Ontario's—and Canada's—electric vehicle infrastructure revolution.
Why This Matters for the Nobellum Community
Abdel’s journey from international pitch competition to landmark government and corporate partnerships is a win for every single founder in the Nobellum ecosystem. It proves that:
Your ideas are global and local. The solutions you’re building can win on the world stage and then come home to deploy transformative technology in your own community.
The right support is everything. From our initial cohort to international partnerships and now government backing, having the right network opens doors to the highest levels of industry and innovation.
The future of tech is diverse. Abdel is proof that when we remove barriers for Black STEM entrepreneurs, they don’t just succeed—they lead critical initiatives that shape our future.
We’ve always believed that the next generation of tech titans is already here, working within our community. Abdel Ali and Kiwi Charge are living proof.
Please join us in giving a massive congratulations to Abdel and the entire Kiwi Charge team. We can’t wait to see what they launch next.
