An Ecosystem for Black Innovators in STEM

The Nobellum Innovator Program is a 6 month cohort-based training for Black Innovators & Startups in STEM

The program offers access to capital, workshops and networking events designed to support Black business owners in the early stages of their entrepreneurial journey. The program aims to support Black Innovators as they work to incorporate Science, Technology or Engineering (STEM) into their business model to create a more sustainable and scalable venture.

Backed by the University of Toronto Scarborough, the Nobellum Innovator Program will increase the presence of Black Innovators in STEM, providing training on business foundations, technology tools and access to skilled industry professionals.

Program Streams

  • Idea

    Founder can explain an initial concept of the idea, with a clear vision and roadmap for how to implement it. The team may not have a product yet, but they have a published website and the business plan can be communicated in a clear and concise pitch deck.

  • Growth

    Founder has a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that is almost there but needs support in crossing the finish line. A thorough business plan has been written, along with some form of prototyping. Initial product has been introduced into the market and has generated sales.

  • International

    Each year, there are a number of virtual seats in the program designated for International Applicants. Participants will join the Early or Growth stream and participate in the program through hybrid events and virtual meetings. Successful startups will have the opportunity to apply for Canada’s Startup Visa to expand their business to Canada.

  • Skills Training

    Build your M.V.P (Minimum Viable Product) during weekly virtual workshops hosted by industry professionals.

  • Access to Capital

    Multiple opportunities to raise funding through pitch events coupled with training on how

  • Mentorship & Coaching

    Each startup gets paired with an industry professional for 1 on 1 coaching

  • Networking & Events

    Connect with a vibrant community of ecosystem leaders and investors
