Canada–Jamaica Investor Trade Mission Launches to Forge Next-Generation Economic Partnerships

Kingston, Jamaica — June 12, 2025 — With Nobellum's secret strategic launch of the CEI Jamaica Accelerator, the Canada–Jamaica Investor Trade Mission emerges as a bold move to bridge innovation between North America and the Caribbean. This initiative underscores Nobellum’s commitment to scaling Black-led innovation across borders and cementing strategic trade alliances.

Following this launch, partners such as the Development Bank of Jamaica (DBJ), Firehood, and VM Wealth Management are actively exploring pathways to engage in Canada’s innovation economy. These stakeholders are not only interested in bilateral investment, but in developing deep, cross-sector partnerships that can drive economic resilience and growth.

We Aim to Accomplish The trade mission will focus on creating scalable, long-term business relationships through:

  • Roundtable discussions with key government ministers and policy leaders

  • Sector-specific forums on tech, energy, logistics, and agritech

  • Curated business-to-business matchmaking sessions

  • Investor-founder meetings for high-potential deal flow

  • CEI Demo Day featuring top Jamaican startups vying for a $100K Angel Prize

  • Valentine’s Intimates – Andrea Jackson-Robinson
    Valentine’s Intimates offers comfort underwire shield support to resolve the issue of skin abrasion and discomfort from underwired bras for heavy busty ladies.

  • FLIK FX – Shevonne Chin
    Flik FX Advertising is an innovative drone advertising company based in Ontario, specializing in creating captivating aerial commercials that light up the sky. Founded by Shevonne Chin, Canada’s first female swarm drone pilot, Flik FX is a pioneer in merging cutting-edge drone technology.

  • Caribbean Online Academy – Judian Wright
    Caribbean Online Academy was created to solve a growing problem in the Caribbean: the lack of access to flexible, high-quality education for students who are often overlooked in the traditional school system.

  • Stush in the City – Lisa Binns
    Stush in the City, an urban outpost of Stush in the Bush, will provide a vibrant, holistic space in Downtown Kingston by merging sustainable cuisine, culture, and community.

  • Financially Focused – Dennise Williams
    Financially Focused leverages the public relations platform of the Financially Focused show to put the spotlight on awesome global businesses and international organizations that help clients make more and have more with ease and less struggle.

  • SmartTerm Limited – Jayme Hoyte & Thausha Martin
    SmartTerm Limited has been successfully implemented as a national solution in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The company operates in 14 other territories, and within the next year, hopes to fully roll out its content platform.

  • Chef A-Peel Limited - Jayme Hoyte
    Chef A-Peel is solving the unmet demand for high-quality, Caribbean-inspired convenience foods by offering culturally relevant, ready-to-consume products designed for modern, time-pressed consumers.

CEI Jamaica Program Highlights by Day

  • Day 1 (June 12): Trade Mission Launch & Reception Dinner
    The mission kicks off by building meaningful connections among delegates and partners. The day will also focus on forming strong ties between local incubators, accelerators, and international investors, while introducing Jamaica's market landscape and pathways for business entry.

  • Day 2 (June 13): Scaling Startups
    This day centers on developing strategic plans for scaling Jamaican startups. Through interactive forums, attendees will address procurement, marketing, and investment opportunities, while driving commitments from government and private sector leaders to fuel entrepreneurial growth.

  • Day 3 (June 14): Demo Day (Hosted by JAMPRO)
    The grand finale showcases high-potential startups from the CEI Jamaica cohort as they pitch to a global audience. One will walk away with the $100K Angel Prize. The day wraps up with a celebration of partnerships formed and the impactful outcomes of the trade mission.
