Position Overview

As a Legal Officer Intern, you will support Nobellum’s leadership and program teams by reviewing, developing, and maintaining key legal and operational documents that guide the organization’s core functions.

This role also contributes to legal resources that support founders across Nobellum’s programs and provides hands-on exposure to startup legal frameworks, contracts, and governance structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the legal@nobellum.com inbox and organize legal documentation
  • Assist in reviewing, drafting, and updating contracts, agreements, and internal policies
  • Support the development and revision of company-wide SOPs
  • Maintain organized records of legal documents and templates
  • Conduct legal research on incorporation, intellectual property, contracts, and compliance
  • Prepare and maintain template legal documents for founder use
  • Assist in reviewing founder documents for completeness, structure, and potential risks
  • Develop legal guides, checklists, and educational startup resources
  • Support coordination of external legal advisors or partners
  • Participate in workshops or office hours to provide general legal information and research-backed insights
  • Coordinate meetings, agendas, and legal or governance documentation
  • Assist with cross-functional projects requiring legal or compliance input

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Law (LLB, JD, or equivalent)
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with corporate, contract, and/or startup law principles
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Interest in entrepreneurship, venture ecosystems, and social impact
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain legal concepts clearly

Eligibility

  • Must be between the ages of 18–30
  • Must be a Permanent Resident or Citizen of Canada

Time Commitment

  • Full-time (35 hours/week)
  • Occasional evening or weekend availability may be required based on programming
